Learn About CBD
What is CBD?

CBD is short for Cannabidiol.  This compound is found in plants belonging to the genus cannabis.  This plant family includes both Hemp and Marijuana. Marijuana contains CBD, but it also contains high amounts of THC, a psychoactive compound.  Many people want the benefits of CBD without the “high” caused by THC.  This is where Hemp shines.  Hemp is a plant that contains high amounts of CBD but only trace amounts of THC.  By law Hemp must contain .3% or less THC which makes it non-psychoactive.  This allows us to bring this wonderful dietary supplement to you legally.

How Does CBD Work?

Cannabidiol (CBD) works by interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS).  What is that?  The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a network of receptors throughout the human body that interacts with naturally occurring cannabinoids in the body. Our bodies already produce these compounds in small amounts.  By supplementing the body’s with Hemp derived cannabinoids, we are able to create a stronger effect upon the ECS. Nature has deemed these compounds important to our overall wellbeing, so we do too.  Research is continuing to develop on how exactly the endocannabinoid system (ECS) works but the current understanding is that it helps the body maintain homeostasis.

What are the health benefits of CBD?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires that we do not make any health claims with our product.  We do this in good faith because health supplements are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease.  With that said, some people have reported of a sense of calm,  relief of certain kinds of pain, and overall improved wellbeing.

We recommend that you do your own research on Hemp derived CBD and read our customer reviews to decide if our product is right for you.

Why is our CBD superior?

Our CBD is the best for several reasons.  To begin with, we are a team of master herbalists & healers with over 50 years of experience in natural medicine.  This level of knowledge gives us a holistic understanding of CBD oil that other companies lack.  We understand how this product works and what formulations make it safe and effective.

We use only USDA Organic Hemp to make our Full Spectrum Extract.  Having clean, high quality plant material to start with makes a cleaner and more potent final product. We can also trace our product from seed to shelf.  Every step of the process is tracked and controlled to bring you the strongest and safest product.  Please visit our quality database to see our test results.

Our Cannabinoid extraction process uses the same principles that have been used in herbalism for centuries. We use a mixture of ethanol (grain alcohol/liquor) and water to cleanly and gently extract the cannabinoids from our hemp plants.  This creates a Full Spectrum product with high levels of multiple phytocannabinoids as well as beneficial terpenes and flavonoids that are not damaged by harmful solvents or high pressure Co2.  This type of extract is more biologically active and effective then CBD alone. This has been shown through scientific research and is termed the “entourage” effect.

Our Hemp Extract is mixed with Organic MCT Oil to create increased absorption and to give you an extra boost of energy.

Which Product Should I Buy and What Dosage Should I Take

We offer an unflavored and a peppermint version of our tinctures.  Unflavored will have a “hempy” taste, so if you don’t like that flavor make sure to order peppermint.

Our products also have suggested serving sizes on the packaging to help you determine your starting point.  We recommend that you start small to see how your body’s unique chemistry responds to our product.  The 350mg tincture is a perfect starting place.  Take the recommended serving size for 4-6 weeks.  If you feel like you need a higher dosage after that time period increase your serving size or move up to our 750mg tincture.

As with any dietary supplement, make sure to take the full daily does every day for the best effectiveness.

Does CBD Have Side Effects?

For most people CBD is well tolerated and is generally safe.  As with all dietary supplements, individuals will react differently, and some individuals may have adverse reactions.  CBD may interact with certain medications and may alter the metabolism of prescription drugs.  Again, as with any dietary supplement consult your physician before use if you are pregnant, nursing, have or think you may have a medical condition, or if you are taking any medications.
